Liniment leaves
Liniment leaves relieving flatulence
“Fresh liniment leaves” provide earthiness scent of Mekong River. Liniment trees are rare and naturally grown along Mekong River in Khemarat Nawaeng-Chiad Cultural Tourism Community, Ubon Ratchathani Province. As their scent is similar to liniment oil, people call them “liniment leaves”. They only bloom once a year between November and April. Young shoots are usually eaten together with chili paste or spicy fish salad because the scent does not only provide the refreshing effect but can also help eliminating fish odor. The liniment leaves can also help relieving flatulence.
